Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers about using OnlineZambiaJobs as a candidate, freelancer or employer. Select a question to read the guidance.
For candidates and job seekers
How do I find and apply for a job?
Open Find Jobs, browse listings or use the search and filters. Open a listing and follow the application instructions. If the employer uses OnlineZambiaJobs applications, submit through the platform. If the listing sends you to an external careers page, complete the process on that employer’s website.
Why should I complete my candidate profile?
A complete and accurate profile helps employers understand your experience and skills. Add your professional title, education, work history, skills and an up-to-date CV where requested. Some verification details are required for account approval. The required fields shown in your account are the best guide to what remains incomplete.
Who can see my profile, phone number, email or CV?
Profile visibility depends on your profile settings and the features available on the site. Public profiles may be discoverable by employers. Access to contact details or CVs can depend on employer permissions and plan rules. Do not include private information in public profile text, and review your profile before making it public.
How can I check the status of an application?
Sign in and open your applications area or dashboard. When an application is managed through the platform, status changes or messages from the employer may appear there. For an externally managed application, contact the employer using the instructions in the listing or confirmation email.
What if my registration is pending or not approved?
Visit your profile and registration page, review any missing or invalid details and complete the requested information. If all details appear complete but your account still shows as pending, contact support.
For employers and recruiters
How do I post a job?
Create an employer account, complete the required employer profile and verification details, and wait for approval if it is required. Then use Post a Job to enter the job title, category, location, job type, description and application instructions. Keep the listing accurate and current.
How many jobs or projects can I post on the Free plan?
The current site configuration describes a limit of up to three combined job and project posts per calendar month on the Free employer plan. Paid plan allowances may differ. Your account and the Employer Plans page show the available plans and their current features.
How do I review applicants?
Open the Applications section in your employer area to review submissions, view permitted profile or CV information, update application status and send a response where the feature is available. Access to certain candidate contact details may depend on your employer plan and site permissions.
Why can’t I see a candidate’s contact details or CV?
Candidate contact details and CV downloads may be restricted by the candidate’s visibility choices and the employer subscription permissions configured on the site. Review the current plan features on the Employer Plans page, and only use candidate information for legitimate recruitment purposes.
Projects and freelancing
What is the difference between a job and a project?
A job listing generally describes an employment opportunity. A project listing describes a piece of work that a client wants completed, often with a stated budget or rate type. Read each listing carefully so you understand the work, deliverables, deadline and application or bidding instructions.
How do I post a project as an employer?
After your employer account is approved, open Post a Project. Add a clear title, category, description, budget, budget type, location, deadline or availability and requested contact information. Project posts count toward the combined monthly posting quota where configured.
How do I submit a bid or express interest in a project?
Open the project listing, read the full requirements and use the available application or bid form. Provide a relevant cover letter and a realistic amount if a bid amount is requested. Do not bid on work you do not understand, and keep records of communications and agreed deliverables.
Plans, free trials and payments
How do I upgrade my employer plan?
Sign in and visit Employer Plans. Review each plan’s price, billing period and features before proceeding to checkout. Plan descriptions and prices displayed on the site at the time of purchase should be treated as the current offer.
Is a free trial available?
A free trial may be offered to eligible accounts where it is enabled and has not already been used. The employer page currently describes a 30-day trial, but eligibility and duration are controlled by the site’s settings. If the option is not displayed in your account, it may not be available to you.
Which payment methods are supported?
The current checkout integration is designed for Zambian mobile-money collections through Lenco and supports MTN, Airtel and Zamtel operator selections. Available methods can change. Follow the instructions shown at checkout and approve payment using your mobile-money provider’s own secure process. Never share your mobile-money PIN with anyone.
Why is my payment still pending?
A pending payment may still require confirmation or authorisation on your handset, or the provider may not yet have returned a final status. Check your mobile-money prompts and transaction messages, then allow the platform to verify the payment. Do not make repeated payments without first checking the status. If the payment remains unresolved, contact support with the transaction reference, amount and approximate time—never your PIN.
Accounts, privacy and safety
I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
Use the password-reset option on the sign-in page if available and follow the instructions sent to your registered email. If an administrator provides a reset link, use a fresh link promptly and do not share it with anyone. Contact support if the link has expired or does not work.
How does OnlineZambiaJobs use my personal information?
Information is used to operate accounts, support recruitment and project activity, provide messaging and matching features, process subscriptions, protect the platform and respond to support requests. Visibility depends on your settings and the feature you use. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I update my information or make a privacy request?
Update your details in your account wherever those controls are available. For access, correction, deletion or another privacy-related request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before taking action, and some records may need to be retained for legal or operational reasons.
How can I report a suspicious job or recruiter?
Be cautious of requests for upfront recruitment fees, passwords, mobile-money PINs or unnecessary identity documents. Check the employer and role, keep communications, and do not send money based only on a promise of employment. Report suspicious activity to [email protected].
How can I contact OnlineZambiaJobs?
Email [email protected] or call +260 777 785 219. When reporting a problem, include the page you were using and a short description. Do not email passwords, mobile-money PINs or full identity-document images unless support confirms a secure method is appropriate.
