Job Description & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Operate JCB/backhoe loader equipment safely and efficiently.
- Carry out excavation, trenching, backfilling and earthmoving activities.
- Load and move soil, gravel, sand and other materials.
- Assist with site preparation, levelling, grading and general site works.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Follow safety procedures and instructions from the Site Supervisor/Foreman.
Qualifications & Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- Valid JCB/Heavy Equipment Operator's Permit or relevant certification.
- Minimum of 3 years' proven experience operating JCB/backhoe loaders.
- Experience in excavation, trenching, backfilling, loading and general earthmoving.
- Knowledge of basic equipment inspection and maintenance.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.
- Must be physically fit, responsible, sober and safety-conscious.
